How print size and scale work
See how paper size, margins and card size fit together. Try a scale below to compare sizes.
- Set the paper size, card size and margins above.
- Try a scale, such as 95%, and compare the two cards.
- Use the separate 50 mm test ruler to check your real printout.
This changes only the explanation, not your sheet or browser print settings.
Dashed card: size at 100%. Blue card: size at the scale you chose. Positions and card counts still use the 100% layout.
Top: 50 mm reference. Bottom: length at your chosen scale. These lines are a comparison, not a ruler you can measure on screen.
For example, 50 mm × 95% = 47.5 mm. When printing, choose 100% / Actual size rather than Fit to page. Measure the test ruler on paper to check scale. Check margins and alignment with a test print.

How to print an image at a specific size
Set each copy's width and height in millimeters or inches, choose A4 or US Letter, and preview the layout. In the print dialog, select the matching paper size and 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.
- Choose one image or the sample card, then set the physical size and number of copies.
- Check margins, gaps, cropping and the resolution estimate in the preview.
- Print a calibration sheet first and measure the 50 mm line with a ruler.
- If the line is not 50 mm, correct browser or printer scaling before printing the final sheet.
Does the screen preview show actual physical size?
No. The screen preview is scaled to fit. Browser print settings and printer hardware can change the paper result; the calibration line helps you check it. Saving a PDF preserves a document, not a guarantee of your printer's accuracy.
